Masks are welcome at the Art Museum, but not required. Please visit  www.wvu.edu/return-to-campus for current requirements.

The Art Museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free. 

Directions

The Art Museum of WVU is located at 20 Fine Arts Drive on the Evansdale campus in Morgantown, West Virginia, next to the Loulie, Valerie and William Canady Creative Arts Center. Take Patteson Drive (705) to Morrill Way to find parking and the museum entrance.

Parking

Visitors to the museum may park in Short Term Lot 1 (ST-1) or Short Term Lot 9 (ST-9). Between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the fee for Lot 1 is $.50/hr and Lot 9 is $1.25/hr. Both lots are free after 4:00 p.m. and on weekends, unless there is a special event such as a home football game. 

Visitors may also park for free anywhere in Area 51 on weekends and after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. Visitors may park in the designated spots marked “RESERVED” for the Art Museum before 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, but must request a parking pass from the museum front desk. Parking in this lot without a pass or permit will result in a citation from WVU Parking & Transportation.

ADA accessible parking is available at the bottom of the driveway adjacent the museum’s entrance. Parking here is free.

Visit Guidelines

We want to help you make the most out of your visit to the Art Museum of WVU.

Help care for our community and collection by following these health and safety precautions when visiting the Art Museum:

  • Stay home if you feel ill or are running a fever
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water (for 20 seconds)

Keep the Art and Each Other Safe

Please stand at a safe distance from paintings and pedestals and do not touch any artwork or cases. This helps preserve the art for everyone to enjoy.

Food & Drink

Food and drink are not permitted anywhere in the Art Museum, including Classroom G7.

Personal Items

Backpacks, large bags, and umbrellas must be checked at the Front Desk.

Sketching & Writing

We encourage visitors to sketch and write in the galleries using pencil. Pens, markers, paints, and other media are prohibited.

Photography

We welcome non-flash photography for personal use and with the expectation that images will be used in a way that is consistent with the rights of the artists. Selfie sticks are not allowed. Tripods and other professional equipment are prohibited without  advance permission

Wheelchairs & Strollers

Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome in the Art Museum.
