Over the years, donations of art by private collectors to the Art Museum have expanded and deepened the museum’s collection. In fact, many of the most significant works at the museum have been the generous gifts of collectors and donors. While we welcome such donations, we can accept only works of significant artistic merit that have been reviewed and approved by the museum’s Collection Committee, which must in turn adhere to the guidelines set forth in the museum’s Collection Management Policy.
If you have a work or works that you would like to donate to the museum, please complete the Gifts of Art form, which will subsequently be reviewed by the Collection Committee.
Please note that the museum will not accept delivery of unsolicited donations and is prohibited by codes of professional conduct and the Tax Reform Act of 1984 from appraising or authenticating works of art. If you would like to have a work appraised, we suggest you contact one of the following organizations:
- American Society of Appraisers
- Appraisers Association of America
