Off Kilter, On Point: Art of the 1960s from Colorado State University

January 20 – May 5, 2024

Off Kilter, On Point: Art of the 1960s highlights the breadth and depth of mid-century artworks in the permanent collection of the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art at Colorado State University. The exhibition showcases a wide range of media and styles, from abstraction to pop art, and presents novel juxtapositions that reflect the tumult and innovations of their time, exhibiting most of the major stylistic trends in art of the 1960s in the U.S. and Europe.

    "Donut" Stress

    Stressed out preparing for finals? Wrap up the spring semester and decompress with a sweet treat at the Art Museum of WVU! De-stress with a self-guided tour of the Art Museum's two current exhibitions, "Off Kilter, On Point: Art of the 1960s" and "Where the Wind Blows." Pull inspiration from the galleries with a coloring sheet. Show it to our staff for access to some fun activities, such as painting planters and mini canvases to take home! Free vanilla and chocolate donuts with a variety of toppings will be available to decorate to your liking. We can’t wait to see your creativity!

    Let off some STEAM

    As the spring semester comes to a close, the Art Museum of WVU invites students to “Let Off Some STEAM!”. Join us for a relaxing night of fun at the Art Museum of WVU where students will visit the exhibitions, featuring art from the 1960s and 1970s that connects themes from art and science disciplines. Enjoy free food, art making, and take home a screen printed tote bag. Craft materials can be collected around the galleries and then used to create your own masterpiece!
