    October 13, 2023
    12 p.m.
    McGee Gallery
    Art Museum of WVU

Join Claire Davis, the 2023 Jacknowitz Summer Intern at the Art Museum of WVU, as she discusses the The Thing Itself exhibition. From Rochester, New York, Davis is currently finishing her second year as a Technical Art History major in the School of Art & Design. Davis hopes to pursue a graduate degree in textile conservation after finishing her BA at WVU.

In her talk, she will be exploring the philosophy of Immanuel Kant’s “the thing-in-itself” in relation to David Hicks’ Golden Nucleus and how the questions of perception are portrayed through the exhibition. She will also be speaking about her experience as the Jacknowitz Summer Intern.
