Summer Camp Tours

The Art Museum of West Virginia University is happy to welcome summer camps to tour the Museum as part of their programming.

Before requesting a tour please be aware of the following:

  • Tours must be requested at least three weeks in advance. Tour dates are not guaranteed until confirmed by a member of museum staff.
  • There is a $2 materials and activities fee per camper to participate in a Museum tour. This covers the cost of art supplies for the hands-on portion of the tour.
  • The museum can accommodate up to 50 campers at a time. If the camp wishes to bring more than 50 campers, the groups will have to come either at separate times during the same day or on different days.
  • All camp tours must be scheduled prior to visiting. Even if the camp counselors wish to lead the group in a tour, a tour request should be submitted in order to avoid scheduling conflicts with other groups and overcrowding in the galleries.

Once your visit has been confirmed, please review the Museum Etiquette Page with your students.  On your tour day please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled tour to allow time for buses to unload students.

Buses should drop students in front of the Museum Education Center at 2 Fine Arts Drive. From there, buses can proceed to lot 70 (see below), where there is space for them to park and turn around.
