In accordance with university policy, all rental events are currently suspended and any future bookings will not be considered until December 2020.
Designed by renowned architect Michael Graves and opened in 1986 as the Erickson Alumni Center, the Museum Education Center is available for rental. Reservation space in the Grand Hall is available for lectures, seminars, recitals, receptions, meetings, parties, luncheons and dinners.
The Grand Hall features a 40-foot Appalachian Pine ceiling and a gas fireplace. The
space can accommodate up to 150 people for a sit-down dinner and 300 people for
a stand-up reception. All food and beverage services must be catered and approved
by the Art Museum of WVU. Any restrictions regarding use of the Grand Hall
will be provided by the Museum and we reserve the right to alter any stipulations
stated in the rental agreement.
The Museum Education Center is not available for commercial sales or retail use, partisan political activity, church or religious services (with exceptions for weddings), fundraising activities for profit or any similar activity. The Director of the Art Museum reserves the right to refuse privileges and/or use of the facilities when, in his opinion, the granting of such privileges will be detrimental to the best interests of the Museum Education Center.
